Plan roughly one access point per 10-15 active users in an office, or one per ~150-200m² of open floor. High-density spaces (function rooms, classrooms, cafes) need more.
It's about coverage AND capacity
Walls, mezzanines and metal racking (warehouses) block signal — you often need more APs for coverage than headcount alone suggests. A site walk or floor plan gets it right.
Switching and cabling matter
Every AP needs a cabled PoE switch port. Size the switch with headroom, and don't forget the cabling run to each AP location.
